Position Summary:
Geronimo Power, LLC is seeking a NERC & RTO/ISO Regulatory Compliance Manager to provide strategic guidance on regulatory matters affecting the operation of utility-scale renewable energy assets, including wind, solar, and battery storage. This role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory frameworks and supporting the organization’s mission to maintain a reliable and compliant operating fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise internal teams on NERC and ISO/RTO regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes impacting asset operations, interconnection, permitting, and market participation to stay updated on evolving standards and best practices.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance calendar to ensure timely adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Ensure ongoing compliance of operating assets with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Represent the organization in regulatory proceedings, stakeholder meetings, and industry working groups.
- Prepare and review regulatory filings.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience, with at least 3 years focused on NERC and RTO/ISO compliance responsibilities.
- Deep understanding of NERC, and ISO/RTO regulatory frameworks, including ERCOT and other regional organizations.
- Ability to run effective NERC compliance program, conduct internal audits and assessments, and identify, address and mitigate any compliance issues as well as NERC RSAW and audit collection processes and procedures.
- Ability to provide training programs on compliance issues across the company.
- Understanding of Remote Operations Center (ROC) operations and procedures.
- Understanding of cyber security and other security protocols to satisfy NERC CIP requirements.
- Experience with renewable energy asset operations and working knowledge of power systems operations, transmission, distribution and generation.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Preferred Attributes:
- Prior experience with a renewable energy developer or utility.
- Understanding of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) rules and regulations.
- Passion for clean energy and sustainability.
Pay Range for the posted level: Minimum of $140,000.00 – 190,000.00
