As part of our growing regulatory compliance operations, the Compliance Coordinator will support NERC/CIP-related activities by collecting, organizing, and maintaining compliance documentation. This role will serve as the primary point of coordination for internal teams and external partners during audits, data requests, and regulatory reporting. Reporting directly to the Head of O&M until a Compliance Manager is appointed, the Compliance Coordinator will help ensure the company remains audit-ready and aligned with evolving regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and organize compliance evidence from ROC, field operations, IT, and engineering teams.
- Maintain a centralized documentation repository to ensure all compliance records are accurate, current, and accessible.
- Act as liaison for internal stakeholders and third-party consultants during audits, data reviews, and compliance assessments.
- Support the preparation and timely submission of NERC reliability reports, audit materials, and self-certifications.
- Monitor compliance deadlines and maintain tracking tools to ensure internal accountability.
- Assist in drafting and updating procedures and internal checklists for compliance activities.
- Coordinate logistics for compliance-related meetings, site visits, and documentation reviews.
- Prepare summaries, logs, and reports as directed by the Head of O&M or external compliance advisors.
- Maintain logs of training sessions and compliance briefings and assist in scheduling as needed.
- Assist in planning and documentation efforts related to the company’s transition from Low Impact to Medium Impact NERC CIP compliance, including evidence readiness, system updates, and implementation tracking.
- Participate in industry meetings and conferences to stay informed about current and future regulatory requirements and assess their impact on Hanwha Convergence USA.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, energy systems, or a related field and 1+ years of experience in the power generation industry designing and deploying NERC/CIP programs.
- 1–3 years of experience in document management, regulatory compliance, or renewable energy.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail in tracking, labeling, and maintaining documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with guidance from external consultants and leadership.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for compliance support or training activities.
- Preferred:
- Prior experience supporting NERC/CIP compliance activities or audits.
- Experience performing or reviewing NERC CIP Compliance studies or evidence for the following: NERC CIP-002-5.1, NERC CIP-003-6, NERC CIP-004-6, NERC CIP-005-5, NERC CIP-006-6
- Familiarity with compliance documentation platforms (e.g., SharePoint, GRC tools).
- Experience working in solar PV or battery energy storage operations.
- Understanding of utility regulatory environments and audit preparation processes.
