Job Title : NERC Compliance Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compliance professional with strong technical writing skills and deep experience in North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Operations and Planning (O&P) Standards. This role will be based at Lone Star Transmission’s (LST) Mesa Oaks office in Austin, TX, and will support compliance efforts across Client operating companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and/or update internal procedures to ensure compliance with applicable NERC Operations and Planning (O&P) standards, as assigned.
- Update and submit personnel changes to the Compliance and Excellence (C&E) Team’s Roles and Responsibilities (R&R) matrix for all CLIENT operating companies.
- Support the migration of compliance-related procedures and documentation to CLIENT’s new Document Management Platform.
- Create and modify Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs) to ensure audit readiness and high-quality compliance documentation.
- Coordinate and review evidence for Sustainability Assessments in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), as assigned.
- Perform other compliance-related duties as needed, such as:
- MIDAS reporting
- Support for Order 881 – implementation readiness for Ambient Adjusted Ratings (AAR)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering degree required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in:
- NERC Operations and Planning (O&P) compliance, or
- Utility compliance programs
- Proven experience in developing and managing a NERC O&P compliance program
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with compliance software tools and platforms
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Experience working with a NERC regional entity or a Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) is a plus
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
